Feeling non productive, tired, jaded, low on morale and confidence? Workplace or home, inside or outside, feeling low just creeps in at the most unwanted time. In such situations, we just wait for a magic to happen that would uplift us. A morale booster is needed. Here are 3 boosters that exist within you and you can access them anytime you want.
Motivation – Defined as a reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way.
What is the reason that makes you jump up and charge ahead? That reason that moves you is what motivates you. Mundane activities start to demotivate us. Its not very exciting to wake up each morning and feel like the day is running you and not the other way round. Whether it’s for a minute, an hour or a day, that one reason that helps you brighten up and lighten up is your boost. Coffee, exercise, a call, a note, a picture, a song, a bird, a dress, a scent, a move, a bend…..the list is exhaustive. These appear non existential but are the very source of sparking up your existence. Notice how these small little things contribute to the day in a big way. Motivation is no magic or a miracle, it’s an element inside you that keeps you going. Stay motivated.
Meraki – This is a word that modern Greeks often use to describe doing something with soul, creativity, or love — when you put “something of yourself” into what you’re doing, whatever it may be.
Meraki in everything that you do will make your work fun and will not stress you out. Most often than not, it’s the thought of doing something which doesn’t seem very important or urgent is what makes us feel drab about it. We procrastinate about it and leave it to do it at a later time. This causes a delay and sometimes we end up having too much to do at the last moment which in turn causes stress. Meraki seems to be a solution to the drab feeling. Also, by doing this, you are creating your own unique signature style of doing something. That is a morale booster.
Meditation – The act of giving your attention to only one thing, either as a religious activity or as a way of becoming calm and relaxed. Serious thought or study, or the product of this activity.
Meditation is just not spiritual or religious activity. In fact it is more scientific than we think it is. Meditation is focusing or giving attention to one thing at a time. Meditating upon a problem, meditating before a presentation, meditating before a big game. It’s about taking deep breaths, bringing your attention to the task in ahead of you, calming your nerves and pumping all positive energy into the task ahead. By cutting out all the noise and negativity, Meditation helps in improving performance at all levels. Starting the day with meditation empowers us by elevating our thoughts and vibrations.
