8-advantages-of-online-tutoring-as-work-from-home-career

A career break could be for many reasons. It could be Maternity break, ill health, health, move to another city, state, country or a perpetual break. To return after a sabbatical and start again is quite frustrating for most women. Reasons are internal as well as external. Externally, the market scenario has changed, technology has changed, pay scales, working modalities etc. Internally there are life events that have been added to the timeline and with it family dynamics as well as responsibilities have changed too.

So, practically and realistically, it is a  little harder this time to start from where one has left and restart from the  same field of work. The route could be a little different now, but worth taking it.  Well, as long as the motivation and passion is there, one must keep going. But until then there are few alternative options one can look into in their field of work. practically and realistically, it is a  little harder this time to start from where one has left and restart from the same field of work. Online tutoring is one such option, where you can work from home, and its easy and fun.

Here are some advantages:

Flexible hours – A big advantage is that these type of jobs have time slots of 2 hours per session and one can choose to go up to as many number of sessions in a day. So with a minimum of 2 hours per day one can get engaged in a job. One gets paid for as many number of hours one puts in.

Teach your choice of subject – After earning all the degrees and working, somewhere our knowledge too diminishes with time. This is a good opportunity to revisit core subjects and teach. There are various subjects for different categories that can be taught. Whether, its subjects taught at school, professional colleges or even computer based programming languages. One has flexibility to choose.

Teach International students – One also gets the opportunity to teach Students from own country as well as abroad. Many students all over the world need help. So sometimes, if the time zones match then one can also peacefully do this when there is not much activity at home.

Creativity – Because it’s online, there are creative ways in which one can conduct classes through graphs, maps, charts, assignments.

No travel – There is no cost in travel or commute as it’s a work from home based job. As long as there is availability and access to internet connection and a machine, one can work sitting anywhere. It is very cost effective.

Manage home and work– It is easy as one can manage both. As, there is no time lost in travel or commute a 2 hours session can start on time and finish on time. Simultaneously home activities can continue too. Good way of multitasking.

No previous experience required – This is a big plus as no previous experience is required. There could be few ability testing quizzes and surveys but no experience required.

No long term contracts- One can quit when one wants to. Usually no long term contracts are required. So, no notice period to be served or be responsible for any kind of delivery.

Most importantly, even if taking up an online tutoring job is a stop -gap arrangement for some time where one needs to do something and get paid while getting trained in a new course or looking for other jobs, it is the best option to work from home.
