Dearest Team HersecondInnings, When I read the name of your company, felt like you’re already telling my story! By profession, I am a software engineer. I worked in two amazing companies before I had my son and decided to take care of him and be around him at home full time as I stay in a nuclear setup. For that time, my decision was perfect, as my son needed the care and the attention in those early growing years! As years started progressing, I started working on a parallel career and took up the entrepreneur route. It was only when he turned 4, when I felt I wanted to get back to my original love, my ITGC audit work. I started preparing again, updated my profile on the portals and started receiving numerous calls in no time. All of them had the same thing in common- either they were not comfortable in taking someone who has been on a break, or they were looking for a full time employee who could physically make it at home. My circumstances were the same, if I were to work, it had to be from home. I must’ve attended 100+ calls, all in vain. Finally, when I received a call from Narmada, I was accustomed to the same conversations and information exchange. But this call was different – they were looking for someone who was returning to work after a break and the job profile was for a work from home. I am very thankful to Second Innings for helping me to get placed in Infosys. I had 13 years of career break. I took the break willingly to spend more quality time with my kids. Once they have grown up I decided to resume. I felt like diving in ocean when I started my journey with Google certifications and then searching for job. Meghana ma’am one day called and mentioned we help women in break to get placed.I felt a rau of hope. Few days later I got a call for interview .nad evrything fell in place as I had Google certifications and 8 years of experience Almighty’s blessings and reference through Second innings.I just want to say nothing is impossible if we stay determined and believe in ourselves. Hey Folks! I am Surbhi Bhati I recently joined Infosys as Technology Analyst after a long gap in career. Previously I was working in another IT big shot TCS but due to maternity I had to pause my career on maternity leave. This is my second life. Due to some personal reasons I quit my career and later when I was planning to restart not sure about how and where to approach. Getting into a company like Infosys was never in my thoughts. But this team especially Narmada has done it. I returned to work in IT after a very long break of about more than 5 years. I am a Computer Science Engineering Graduate and started my career happily in a well established company. I obtained diverse experience ranging from providing software solutions, implementation, maintenance, training etc. I was very successful in my career for 10 years. After that I was held up with family commitments and child care which forced me to take a break from my career.
